“We always try to make high-quality design accessible to all people”, IKEA writes on its own website. With the SPACE10 Pop-up Store in London and the Research Lab, the Swedish furniture store has already shown what they mean and is now taking the next step with the augmented reality app IKEA Place.
Just in time for the launch of the new Apple iPhone X and iOS 11, IKEA presents the new AR-App “IKEA Place”. With the free app, it is possible to select from around 2,000 available products and place them in the home's four walls for testing purposes. No matter whether it's a sofa, armchair or coffee table, all products in the IKEA Place App are presented three-dimensional and true to scale.
With the introduction of the new AR-App, the Swedish furniture store is the first furniture company to present such a technological solution to its customers. But what do you think of IKEA Place? Can you imagine looking for new furniture with the help of the app?
