Founded in 2009 as a digital interview magazine with a team of photographers, editors, designers and networkers, Friends of Friends opened their first joint apartment in Berlin at the beginning of this year in cooperation with the Swiss furniture manufacturer Vitra. The FvF Apartment by Vitra (Mulackstrasse, Berlin Mitte) not only provides an interesting insight into the world of Vitra residential collage, but also visualizes the vision of urban living of friends of friends.
Zur Erweiterung des Online-Magazins
How does a digitally oriented generation live for whom creativity, sustainability and mobility are more important than status? Based on the shared styles and experiences of Vitra and friends of friends, the FvF Apartment offers the necessary space to answer this question.
At the same time, it serves as a platform for innovative products and creates far-reaching synergies: many of the people portrayed by friends of friends are closely rooted in themes such as interior design, product design and photography - and this is exactly what the apartment reflects as an analogue extension of the online magazine in an authentic environment. It is a vision and not a superficial showroom.
Classics play an important role
Under the direction of friends of friends, the architect Etienne Descloux and the interior designer Katrin Greiling, the 65 square metre old apartment was rebuilt and designed in such a way that it can be used flexibly and adapted to various everyday scenarios. Classics such as the Eames Lounge Chair or contemporary furniture such as the Slow Chair by Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec play an important role.
But what do you think about FvF Apartment by Vitra? Do both the architecture and the interior of the stylishly furnished apartment reflect the visions of urban life? Let us know in the comments.
