The gigantic office building of Apple has been under construction in Silicon Valley, California, for about two years. The new Apple Campus 2 will be round, transparent and will offer 12.000 employees 260.000 square meters of office space in just one building.
If Apple builds, it's big. The office building named “Supership” is a unique superlative. In addition to a gigantic auditorium, it includes a fitness centre, several cafés and its own park in the middle of the building. Apple wants to build the world's most modern building with the Apple Campus 2, that's for sure. Apple is even making bicycles available to its employees to get from one conference room to the next as quickly as possible between two meetings.
New drone video shows construction progress of Apple Campus 2
According to British star architect Norman Foster, the Apple Campus 2 with an outer circumference of 1.6 kilometers is set to open in 2017. So it is not surprising that the whole world wonders what the situation is like on the five billion dollar construction site?!
The response to this is provided by the two newly released drone videos by Matthew Roberts and Duncan Sinfield, who flew over the mega construction site in Silicon Valley with their DJI Phantoms. Significant progress can be seen in the earthworks inside Apple Campus 2 and on the solar panels on the roof of the building, which are to supply all the electricity later on.
At the same time, the new videos from Apple Campus 2 are also attracting critics who strongly doubt that the project will be completed on time. What do you think the new Apple “Spaceship” will open next year?
