Banksy Thanks Hospital Staff With Game Changer Artwork
Streetart artist Banksy has left another work of art with “Game Changer”: The black and white artwork shows a little boy playing with a doll nurse while his Batman and Superman figures lie unused in a basket next to him. On closer inspection of the nurse, it is noticeable that she is wearing a face mask and a cape, which suggests that she is the real superhero of the present day.
According to the BBC, the Game Changer artwork – as Banksy calls it on his Instagram profile – was placed near the emergency room of Southampton General Hospital. In addition, the street artist is said to have left a note for the staff, which reads: “Thank you for everything you do. I hope this brightens the place up a bit, even if it’s only in black and white.”
Game Changer artwork by Banksy will be auctioned for a good cause
“The fact that Banksy has chosen us to recognise the NHS’ outstanding contribution is a great honour for us”, said Paula Head, CEO of University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust. The artwork would be appreciated not only by the hospital staff, but especially by the local people who are going through a difficult time.
According to our information, the artwork will remain at Southampton General Hospital (Floor C) until it is finally auctioned off to raise money for the NHS Foundation Trust.
