The year 2019 is just one month old and Canon is giving full throttle! As the reliable website Nokishita is said to have found out, Canon seems to be about to introduce five new RF lenses for the EOS R. The new EOS R is the latest addition to Canon's range of lenses.
Since the beginning of January, the rumour has been spreading. According to the rumour, Canon will launch around seven new RF lenses in the course of the year - and the rumour does indeed seem to be true, as the first five of the new RF lenses have now been leased.
Five new Canon RF lenses leakt
It seems that the five new RF lenses for the Canon EOS R are the following focal lengths:
- Canon RF 15-35mm f/2.8L IS USM
- Canon RF 24-70mm f/2.8L IS USM
- Canon RF 24-240mm f/4-6.3 IS USM
- Canon RF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM
- Canon RF 85mm f/1.2L USM
Three classic f/2.8 zoom lenses
If the rumours prove true, Canon will present three classic zoom lenses in one go: the RF 15-35mm f/2.8, the RF 24-70mm f/2.8 and the RF 70-200mm f/2.8. Already last week there were first rumours concerning the 15-35mm wide-angle lens, as this should offer about 1mm more focal length than usual.
According to further rumours it could be that the Canon RF 24-240mm f/4-6.3 IS USM lens could also be offered as an alternative kit lens in combination with the EOS R camera, at least the website Canonrumors suspects.
But what do you think there is to the rumor? Should Canon really introduce five new RF lenses at the beginning of the year? We are looking forward to your feedback in the comments.
